Cautions of the Suited Cards

Every poker player loves to look down and see two suited cards sitting there. It’s something about the way the symbols go together, in tandem representing the possibility of maybe making the flush (or even the straight flush), and win a big pot. As a result, many poker online players will get caught up playing cards they never would have put money in the pot with if they weren’t suited, and by and large, over time, give away more money to pots than they earnall in the hopes of getting lucky.

If you aren’t the kind of player than can continue to push and win by aggression when you miss with these kinds of cards, limiting your selection of suited cards is an important, if something cloying, task. In general, the presence of that suited possibility ultimately adds only a marginal value to the hand. You are going to flop a flush less than 1 in 100 hands, and you will flop a flush draw that doesn’t pan out a bit more frequently than that (in the process often losing money when you miss the flush). You will connect on that flush draw 1 in 5 times or thereabouts, speaking roughly.

Thus, with the improbability of making a flush, it is wise to play sets of suited cards that you would also play if they weren’t suitedpoker hands you can play for value when the likely scenario of no flush possibility comes along.
