Lemongrass and Other Essential Oils

The intention of aromatherapy is to better our mental and physical well-being via essential oils and plant oils. Aromatherapy has been used for 1000s of years as an aid to boost our health. Ninety volatile oils have been described and are in common use today.There are other essences you can admit under the expression aromatherapy : milk powders, sea salts, sugars (an exfoliant), clays and muds, cold pressed vegetable oils etc.

In more detail, what exactly are the benefits of aromatherapy? It seems unbelievable that merely from sniffing an essence or putting it on the surface of my skin, I can improve my well-being. Here’s the science bit : The odour of the natural volatile oil provokes the mind to spark a chemical reaction, and when inhaled into the lungs, the natural constituents can provide a health boost. Because essential oils are so concentrated and powerful, they never should be applied to the skin in their undiluted form. To add essential oils to the skin, they are typically diluted into a carrier like a cold pressed vegetable oil, also known as a carrier oil. Standard carrier oils are apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil and grapeseed oil.

So whereabouts can I get aromatherapy wares, and what should I look out for? A basic rule is to be sceptical of items that don’t name their ingredients and also those that do not use pure essential oils. Searching on the internet, there’s a large number of aromatherapy retail merchants, and you can get all kinds of things…..from Lemongrass massage oils to bath crystals.

We encourage everybody to study some more about aromatherapy as it is a tremendous aid to ones well-being, and it can also be applied almost anywhere, and does not come with any huge time or monetary tolls.
