Poker Night

Poker isn’t just a hobby, an obsession, or a career-for some, it’s a way to get some valuable guy time.

One of the main reasons that I love poker games is that it’s an excuse for my pals and I to get together. Now that we’ve all got wives, jobs, and kids, it’s a lot harder for us to get together now than it was in college. Sneaking out for a quick lunch or cup of coffee is hard enough, but trying to get everybody together and hang out is just about impossible.

For some reason, poker night seems sacred enough for all of our wives to be willing to give us all a night to get together and play. Poker is a great way for us to get together-we get ample time to catch up and the competitive nature of the game gives us ample opportunity to goad, heckle and take money from each other.

Our Texas Hold ‘Em nights have become sacred-we’ve fallen into a weekly routine that enables us to hang out, relax, and do everything we can to get each other’s chip stack. If you haven’t already, try get one of your own going strong and often.
