The World’s Weirdest Red Shoes

If you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to red shoes, think again! Some of the world’s weirdest red shoes feature odd shapes, faux medieval markings, and some are even made of Play-Doh – for fun. The inspiration for these weird red shoes comes from everything from the industrial revolution and the race to save the Netherlands cultural heritage to the Dutch patriotism, the Hollywood Blythe Doll, and more. The world’s weirdest red shoes can be found at VirtualShoeMuseum.com, but below are some of our top weirdest picks.

The red “Long-pointed Stiletto” takes the toe to new lengths. Created by Roger and Sarah Adams (RoSa Shoes) this red shoe has a pointed toe that’s as sharp as a knife and the heel is roughly 12 centimeters high (that’s 5 inches). The next weird red shoe is also features bright green, orange, and yellow colors and it is made entirely of Play-Doh. Created by Phong Nguyen, these weird red shoes are miniature in size and they are definitely a delight to look at.

The “Queenshoe,” created by Marlie Witteveen and Marijke Bruggink, features the Dutch national colors red, white, and blue with orange velvet laces and an orange leather sole. This patriotic boot laces up several inches above the ankle. Yet another Marlie Witteveen and Marijke Bruggink is the shiny red patent leather Corset-shoes purchased by the Centraal Museum Utrecht, The Netherlands. The red Corset-shoes were hand stitched, of course.

This next red shoe is actually a shoe sculpture that is part of a series of 20 sculptures dedicated to the most relevant women in comics, history, literature, and cinema. The “Dorothy Wizard of Oz” by Barbara Zucchi features a red ribbon design and a red fur heel with a tail. Confused? Take a look at this weird red shoe here. Another weird red shoe in the collection is the “Anne Frank,” also by Barbara Zucchi. The Anne Frank is made of transparent heels, and two sashes made of beads barbed wire.

As a tribute to the Hollywood celebrities, Blythe Doll, the Blythe Dice red shoe by David Sullivan features the face of a doll in the center of a heart on the side of the red leather ankle boot. A customized Hollywood Blythe Doll is attached. Other weird red shoes include the “Iron Lady” by Karin Janssen, the “Sole Mates Felt” by Samira Boon, and the “Ladybug” by Riina Oun.
